  • St. George Bike Trip

Nice warm weekend, so it was time for the first bike trip of the year. My friend Jim and I took off to St. George to hit a couple trails. Friday we went on one of the most technical rides I have ever done — Gooseberry Mesa. The trail follows the edge of a mesa on some of the most amazing riding I have ever done. I am not too scared of heights, but if you are this isn’t the trail for you. At some points you are just feet from the edge. Over the whole trail I never felt like I was in jeopardy of                       falling to my doom.

On Saturday we hit the Bearclaw Poppy trail. This is a very fast trail with some sweet downhills. It is very different from Gooseberry but totally fun. If you have two hours to burn and you are in St. George, this is a sweet place to spend it. This video was shot with a GoPro Hero camera. I hope it doesn’t make you sick. It was an amazing trip and I can’t wait to hit some trails up here soon.

  • KISS THISS

One of my coworkers is in a Kiss cover band called Kiss Thiss and I was able to shoot one of their gigs.  Some the the shots have been used in different places, one in a City Weekly ad, one in a story in the Salt Lake Tribune, and one on the Kiss web page. They are amazing performers and put on a sweet show. Here are some of the shots I got at their show at Club Vegas in downtown Salt Lake.

  • Ferris Wheel Utah State Fair 2009

Yesterday I was going through my memory cards and found some shots that I took at the State Fair about a month ago. I totally forgot I even took them. So surprise surprise look what I found. It is always a fun day to find some cool shots you forgot you took.

These are of my oldest daughter’s first ferris wheel ride. She was talking about going on the BIG ferris wheel for weeks so when she saw it, the overpriced ride was worth it.

  • Catching the Moon for my Little Girl

My oldest girl is really into space right now and can’t stop talking about it. She loves the moon and stars and all the planets. On Monday we went to the Clark Planetarium to learn more about space, and I think it pushed her over the edge. If we could move our house to space right now she would be in. So yesterday at work I was looking to see when the next full moon would be, and guess what — it was last night. I called a good friend and borrowed a 400, then I put an extender on it making it an 800. This picture is less then half the size of the full image. I can’t wait to print it for my little girl. Maybe I will never be able to really catch the moon for you sweetheart, but I will always do everything I can to help you get your dreams.

So this picture is for her.

This morning I was so excited to show this to my girl. My wife came down to see her face. When I showed it to her so looked at it excited and asked, “Daddy, can you now take a picture of the Earth for me?” The next time I am in a spaceship I am all on that.

  • One Charming Party

I was able to shoot a 1st birthday party for an awesome party planer/ party designer Brittany Egbert from One Charming Party. It was fun to shoot something different and unique. Check out her site www.onecharmingparty.com to see the awesome things she does. One of the photos I shot for her ended up on the blog for The Wedding Channel.com. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot.

  • RC

I was able to shoot a RC (remote control) car race track this last week. It was for Intermountain RC Raceway. The track is out in Magna and is a pretty sweet indoor RC dirt track. They wanted a shot that showed the whole track, so the only way for me to accomplish this was to stick 7 photos together. It turned into a pretty sweet pano. A big thanks to Jeff and Zack for letting me help out on this project.

  • Too legit … to be true

“Vanilla Ice & MC Hammer touring together?  Hopefully Ice was ‘fakin” about the whole ‘cookin’ MCs like a pound of bacon’ thing, cuz … AAWkkkkwaaard!”                -Jen Ward

Yes, it’s true — Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer together at last.  Who didn’t dream about this day?!? … in 1992. So put on your Hammer Pants and jump in your Delorean for 1.21 Gigawatts of goodness.

Mr. Vanilla Ice came on first and put on a hard core Rap set, complete with psycho clown and about 100+ water bottles dumped on the crowd.  Weird.  He did bring the house down with Ice Ice Baby, though — he’s still got it.

Vanilla Ice introduced MC Hammer, and then the magic began.  1st time on stage together — amazing!

MC Hammer took the stage and put on a great show, living up to his reputation.  Hammer pants included.

MC Hammer - he still has it and the hammer pants also

MC Hammer - still got it

To end the show Ice came back on with Hammer, finishing up with Hammer Time. The show was just as crazy as it sounds.  Thanks Jiperton Productions for giving me the opportunity to shoot.
